Set Trigger on Multiple Analog Channels

Post by AlexP » Tue Nov 29, 2016 3:27 am

Hello everyone.

I am attempting to triangulate the source of a physical event using multiple analog sensors.

Notionally, I'd like to set a rise trigger for all three sensors, so that the entire trio starts recording as soon as any sensor sees a voltage spike. However, there seems to only be an option to attach a trigger to a single channel. This poses a problem if the trigger is attached to sensor A, but sensor B is closest to the impact. By the time the sensor A trigger goes off, sensor B would have missed out on some recorded data.

Does anyone know an alternative way to implement this? (Using Picoscope 4824)

Thanks in advance.

In PicoScope 6 select the Advanced Triggers option button on the Trigger Toolbar, and then select Logic Trigger which will allow you to combine up to four channels on a 4824.

Hey Martin,

I do not have the logic option :( I am using Picoscope 6 Beta on Ubuntu.

Is this option not supported in Linux? Or am I just blind?

Hi AlexP,

The logic trigger feature is available in the PicoScope 6 software (verified with PicoScope 6.11.13.3).

Please ensure that you have enabled two or more channels, then click on the Advanced Trigger icon on the Trigger Toolbar and you should find a logic trigger option as per the screenshot below:
