50 ohm BMC attenuator

Post by Eknolspk »

My Picoscope 2000 input range is +/- 20V, and probe in 10x mode is approved for 600 V pk-pk. Is it possible to connect a BMC attenuator to be able to measure up to 600 V? Is it a 50 ohm cable?
Best regards
Anders

What type of signal are you looking to measure ?

In other words mains voltages.

No using the probe and attenuator would be extremely dangerous, possibly causing damage to the scope, computer and user.

To measure mains voltages you need to use an appropriately rated active differential probe or an isolation transformer. Not cheap but safety has to come first.
