ADC-40 Problem

Post by JimT »

I have the ADC-40 which was connected and working on a Compaq Deskpro running NT4.0 using both the Pico logging software (PLW) and a Visual Basic application.

The ADC module was removed and returned to the computer, but now both software applications say there is a 5v (127bit) constant from the module. They report this whether the module is plugged in or not.

Do you have any ideas on what is wrong. The PC has never had printer drivers installed.

I followed the instructions to turn off the computer and restart them plug in the ADC, no change.

Sounds like there is something wrong with your PC. Have you tried reinstalling the software? Is there any chance your parallel port settings in the BIOS could have been changed?

The I/O address should be 378 and the IRQ 7. The correct parallel port
mode should be either SPP, Normal, Output only or Unidirectional.

It might be worth checking that there aren't any other drivers trying to
use the port, things like zip drivers or scanners. Also check that the power management is not trying to shut the port down. If none of this solves the problem, try reinstalling the application, but ensure that you have administrator priveleges first (then restart the PC).
