PicoScope save as PDF crash

Post by DBlueman »

Dear Picotech,

With Picoscope 6.11.13.3 on stock Ubuntu 16.04, when saving a waveform as PDF, Picoscope crashes.

Please fix this issue, or remove the PDF save option until it is fixed.

Hi Daniel,

Is there a crash report generated when the crash occurs?

If not, please locate the trace.xml file corresponding to the session - this can be located in the following directory:

Code: Select all

~/.local/share/Pico\ Technology/260a68f1-30f-0a5e01d65514
If the last session did not have a crash, please reproduce it then locate the file.

Hi Hitesh,

Many thanks for responding!

Yes, trace.xml shows the backtrace; PdfSharp.Pdf.PdfPage.Initialize causes a NULL pointer dereference.

The steps to reproduce are:
1. install Ubuntu 16.04 x86-64 (and update)
2. install current Picoscope
3. open Picoscope
4. load factory defaults
5. File->Save As->filename.pdf

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the trace file.

I've not been able to reproduce the issue using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with a 4.4 kernel, but I've submitted a bug report for our Development Team.

Regards,
