Is there analog anti-aliasing filter in Picoscope 5000 serie

Post by layfolk »

Hi All,

I want to check with you guys whether there is a analog anti-aliasing filter inside Picoscope 5000 series. If there is, what is the parameters.

Using different sampling rate 125MS, 62.5MS, 31.25MS, and 15.625MS to look at 4MHz received signal, I can see the noise floor increase when I reduce the sampling rate as: 0.095175mV, 0.133119mV, 0.188294mV, 0.275001mV. I am wondering what is the reason?

Thanks a lot.

Hitesh

Hi layfolk,

There is an optional 20 MHz filter which can be individually enabled.

It would be useful to see a PicoScope 6 data file as this will enable us to see the specific PicoScope model being used, the resolution setting being used and check the settings being used.

Hi Hitesh,

Thanks. Furthermore, where and how can I enable the 20MHz filter. Please check my setting file. The highest signal we need is only 4Mhz. To reduce the noise floor, we are now using 125MS sampling rate. It is time consuming to save the data.

Thanks,
Layfolk.

Hi Hitesh,

Following the previous question, is the optional 20 MHz filter an analog or digital one.

Thanks.

Hitesh

Hi Layfolk,

You can set the 20 MHz Bandwidth Limiter via the channel settings pop-up for the channel as shown below:
Channel settings for channel A
Channel settings for channel A
The bandwidth limiter is implemented using analogue hardware.

Hope this helps,
