Rise time in 3206

Post by jmt »

Hello,

I'm trying to measure rise times using 3206 from 5V digital signals.

The best rise time (10% to 90%) i get is about 35ns. My problem is that i'm measuring devices that should perform at about 10ns.

Is this a limitation of 3206?

Theoretically an analog oscilloscope should have about 0.35/BW, which would be 1.75ns for the 3206, wouldn't it? And a digital oscilloscope is supposed to perform better here....

Please give me a solution.

My goal is to check if a signal has lower rise time than 18ns... how can i measure that?

Thanks very much

Probe

By the way, I use a MI103 250MHz probe, so this shouldn't be the problem.
