Longer Readings

Post by fred1 »

Hi. Two queries:
1. From looking at other posts in this forum, you say the 3026 can sample for 500seconds at lightspeed. We want to capture a slow DC (0-3V) on one channel, manually triggered (using pc perhaps?), lasting up to 360 seconds - 10 readings per second and 8 bit resolution would be more than OK. Can the 3204 be programmed to do this sort of thing?
2. What are the signal input connectors on the 3204 (BNC perhaps?) and are they commoned to the 0V of the USB?
Thanks

Hello,

The 3204 is quite capable of this speed of measurement.

It has a 256kSample memory buffer so a sample rate of 10 per second could give you 25,000 seconds or 416 minutes. But you will not be able to do this using block modes. The timbases dictate either a 200 second or 500 second sampling run.

Best regards,
Michael

Thanks for that Michael - what about the connectors -are they BNC? and is the 0V the same as the USB 0V?

Hello,

The connectors are BNC. The grounds are common with the option to use the supplied PSU to isolate the PC power supply.

Best regards,
Michael
