Running Pico Log with Over Voltage display?

Post by RQA »

Hello, I'm currently running the PICO LOG recorder on Picoscope3223 and TA018 clamp set to 20amp. I'm mainly do charge times or draining small phone sized batteries at 0.1a or more but I'm getting Over Voltage readings on and off. I'm been using the Pico equipment for around 6 months but this is the first time I'm using on smaller items.

I have set the scaling for the TA018 (set at 20A) to x*10 +/- to get closest to zero (not x*100 as per clamp because the readings are way out). Currently the voltage range is set to +/-500mV.

Ideally I need proper training as I also use the Picoscope3204 with another TA015, TA018 and TA041 and intend on buying the Picoscope 2000 as well with another TA018.

Any help would be great,

Thanks

Phil

Okay, miss understanding on my behalf, I thought the +/- was the accuracy not the voltage I'm working with. I have been informed that the TA018 pico clamp won't really provide accurate measurements 0.1a and that I'm going to use a equation for R=V/I.
We also have a TC-08 and I'm looking at accessory PP624:
Single channel TC-08 terminal board
The USB TC-08 Single-Channel Terminal Board is an accessory for the USB TC-08 Thermocouple Data Logger. The screw terminals allow wires to be attached to the data logger without soldering and enable the USB TC-08 to measure voltages in the ranges ±5 V, ±500 mV and ±50 mV, or 4–20 mA current loop.

If you do use the TC-08 terminal board (PP624), this table show the scaling factors-
