Problem with Labview example for 5242A

Post by jack2006 »

Plodding through the example given for the 5oooa series scopes tryng to get my head around the DLL's and found when using the example PicoScope500aExampleBlock.vi the program 'locks up' when I select a range greater than 5V.

A relay can be heard in the scope changing state when I go from 5V to 10V range. Checked that I have the SDK files in the right place and they are ok.

Hi,

It most likely the scope has not 'locked up' when you have selected a higher voltage range. It is still waiting for a trigger.
By default the trigger is enabled on channel A, with default level of 16384 ADC count.
Trigger level = Voltage range (ie 5v) x (Trigger ADC/MAX ADC)
for example; 5 range x (16384/32512) = 2.519v trigger level

Note MAX ADC for scopes using the 5000a.dll is 32512 (8-bit only) otherwise 32767.
