Error downloading new version 6.11 for Windows 10

Post by robotman »

I have just downloaded the new 6.11 version of picoscope on my Windows 10 netbook to use with my picoscope 2007 and got the message "signature of the file is corrupt or invalid".
Is it safe to run the file to install the new version? I don't want to lose my current version if the new install fails.

Hi robotman,

Please check that you have ownership of your AppData folder (see section 3 of the PicoScope 6 Self-Help Guide).

Prior to installing the new version, please check the version number of the current PicoScope 6 install (click Help -> About PicoScope 6). If you do encounter an issue with the installation, then e-mail support@picotech.com with the version number if you do not have the original installation file and we can provide this for you.

Edit:

Few questions for you:
  • Which browser are you using? Have you tried another web browser?
  • Have you tried downloading the file again?
  • Are you able to check the file signature in Windows Explorer (right-click the file, select Properties then click on the Digital Signatures tab)?
Regards,
