Trigger and USB Speed Issues with PicoScope 3204

Post by iomos »

Dear Sir / Madam,

I have been using the PicoScope 3204 for a few months but had this problems since the beginning:

a) Frequenctly, it false triggers (triggers at the right level but opposite slope). This is especially true with voltage ranges of +/- 1V or lower. The ratio of false to correct triggers is variable, quite often 50%, which makes the signal jump between the two slopes.

For the same signal, the problem goes away if the voltage range is +/- 2V or higher. Tried modifying all triggering and sampling parameters without any luck.

I have some sample PSD files, but I don't see an option to add an attachment on this form.

b) Although connected to a USB 2 port with a USB 2 compliant cable, the OS always indicates that the "device can perform faster if connected to a USB 2 port".

Could this be a faulty unit?

Forgot to mention that I'm using:

software release 5.13.7
driver version 2.5.0.0

Win XP
Celeron 2.8GHz
512Mb RAM

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
