PICOLOG ANOMALY

Post by Glovisol »

This problem happened to me twice. Suddendly the Picolog display would lose fine grain definition, producing this result:
Picolog display anomaly
Picolog display anomaly
Nothing solved the problem. I had to redeploy the PC system (using a stored image). It happened once with Windows XP (PC Lenovo 3000N200) and now a second time with Windows 7 (PC IBM/LENOVO X61). I enclose the PLW file for analysis.

Dear Andrew,

Thank you for your kind reply. I am enclosing the following, as you requested.
10. PK235 - USB FEED 3.jpg
PK235 - DrDAQ USB FEED 3.PLW
(28.96 KiB) Downloaded 524 times
The above were taken before the anomalous display took place. If you go to the Barograph postings, in Part 7 you will find other perfectly O.K. files & PC screens.

Hope this can shed some light.

Kind regards,

Glovisol

Hello Glovisol,

I cannot reproduce this issue, this maybe due that I am not feeding any input signals in the DrDAQ.
So once the Picolog displays this anomaly, you could not revert to normal operation even if you restarted picolog? Yes

If this anomaly happens again can you try deleting the picolog appdata folder-
For Windows 7/8
C:\Users\YOUR_USERACCOUNT\AppData\Local\Pico Technology\42..............
For Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERACCOUNT\Local Settings\Application Data\Pico Technology\42..............

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. Once the phenomenon happened it was impossible to make it go away by simply closing Picolog, disconnecting the USB cable to the DA, then re-connecting the USB and re-openng Picolog.

What I did was to simply de-install Picolog, trash the Pico folder and then re-install. In this way the anomaly was licked for good.

If it happens again I will execute what you propose.

Kind regards,

glovisol
