Automotive diagnostic software

Hi.
We are looking for a laptop scope that can measure signals from engine managmenbt systems. This product seems to be the right choice.
However we need too, for example, measure the coolant temperature sensor over a period of time, say 500 seconds. The question is, will Automotive diagnostic software achieve this or do we need a dedicated data logger?

Hi Martin,

Yes.

With the 3000 series automotive scopes, you can select 50 seconds per division. This Will give you a 500 second screen time. If using one channel, that would maintain a sample rate of 610 Hz with a sample about every 1.6ms. There is a software selectable low pass filter to help keep the high frequency noise out of the signal.
