Installation problems Windows 7

Post by RobT » Thu Nov 19, 2015 12:41 pm

I just bought a PicoScope 2204a.
However I can get the software installed properly.

I used the cd that came with the scope and have tried a few different versions available on the website.
They all have the same problem: after installing is done ('installation succesfull'), no icon is created. So there is no way to open the program.

Anyone have had this issue before or know a solution?

Hi RobT,

Which version of Windows 7 are you using?

Are you using Administrator privileges to install the software and is there any anti-virus software running on your PC at the time of installation?

What would be helpful is an installation log to see if there is anything indicated. To do this:
  • Open a Windows Command Prompt as an Administrator
  • Change directory to where the Picoscope installer is located e.g. cd C:\Users\Downloads
  • Assuming that you have the latest Beta version downloaded, type PicoScope6Beta_r6_11_7.exe /v"/L install.log" and press Enter
I will respond via your e-mail support ticket, so please e-mail the installation log by reply. Please also attach the DPINST.LOG file which you will find in your C:\Windows directory.
