We have two oscilloscopes from picoscope (6404D and 2408B). We are using picoscope beta 6 linux version. Im listing down the problems that we are facing in the above mentioned software version.

1. when selected dBm, resistance option is not displayed
2. start capturing button doesnt work. we can only stop the capture. When we want to restart the capture it doesnt work.
3. Under tools option there are only two options:
a) serial decoding
b) preferences
All the other tools option which are available in windows are not available in linux version.

Hi Nutan,

I currently do not have access to a Linux PC to check item 1 but I will check this next week.

For item 2, we believe this may have been fixed as it has not been repeatable with testing internally. There should be a new release soon as our Software Test team should be in the process of testing a new build.

We are working towards feature parity with the Microsoft Windows counterpart although this might occur with the next major release.

Hello I am a newbe here,
A year or two ago I tried the Linux software.
Now I've downloaded it again and installed it, and that's all right now.
Only in the tool option do I miss many options, especially the math function.
I would like to use that for my automotive measurements with a pico scope 4444.
I thought Windows was already on its return, but I'm obviously not well.
But great that you are busy with Linux, keep going!
Then it will be good with the automotive Linux software of yours.

Hi Hugo,

We are working towards feature parity with the Windows version of the software but this is likely to be in the next major release.

You can view the release notes for the latest version here.

Please note that the Linux version is currently for Test and Measurement products (such as the PicoScope 4444) so we do not include features such Automotive Guided Tests or the Waveform Library which would be available with Automotive PicoScope models.

Hello Nutan and Hitesh.

I am actually trying to log data using tools -> alarms, like I do in windows, but as Nutan said, some tools are still missing. To install PicoScope software I followed the instructions in the official web page, so I don't think i've downloaded an old version. Should the missing tools be available?, if not, when will they be available?

Thank you.

Hi Alfonso,

We are working towards feature parity for the Windows, Linux and macOS versions although this will not be available until the next major release.

Unfortunately, this means that features such as Alarms are not available for the Linux version at this moment in time.

We are looking into how best to communicate which features are available for each platform.
