Auto-Dialer Alarm Acknowledgement + Others

Hi

We have a system in place which has an EL008 logger connected to an EL001 and EL037 as well as an EL018 Auto-dialer adapter. I actually have three questions regarding this setup.

1. Initially we only had the EL008 and EL037 in the network. Autoconfiguring the software detected all these components OK. However, when we then incorporated the EL018 and EL001 in the network the autoconfiguration failed to see any of the devices the first few times I tried. Is there a set routine that should be followed when adding converters. We hope to add another EL037 in the very near future.

2. The next question concerds alarm setting for the EL037. When set to instantaneous I originally expected the alram to sound as soon as the alarm conditions were met. There is however, a delay of a couple of minutes before the alarm sounds after it has failed. Is this due to the averaging nature of the logger. What I mean is if the sampling is every minute (the averaged samples over the minute) and the alarm is set to instantaneous does it still take at least a minute before the alarm will sound?

3. The third question is about the auto-dialer. When an alarm sounds and the desired numbers are rang will an acknowledgment by the recipient on the other end of the phone line silence the alarm? Or does the alarm continue to sound even though it has been acknowledged externally. Is it necessary to acknowledge the alarm at the PC in order to silence it?
