ADC16

Post by Guest »

Hi,
I plan to use ADC16 to measure a current of about 10^-6 amp. Is it possible? Should I need an amplifier? If does where can I get it? Thanks a lot.

Hi Pat

Thank you for your post.

I would certainly recommend amplifying this signal. Unfortuantely I do not know where you can obtain an amp but RS Components might be able to help.

You will then need to use a shunt resistor to convert to a voltage in order to interface with the ADC-16.

Thanks Sarah
The current come from a semiconductive sensor with about 10M ohm. A 0~5v voltage will be applied on it. Could you please recommend me what amplifier and how big shunt resistor should I use? Can I buy them from Pico? Thanks a lot.
Best wishes

Hi

Thank you for your post.

Pico do not sell these items, you will need to buy them from elsewhere. You will also need to work out the necessary values yourself. You can work out the size of resistor needed from Ohms law, V=IR.
