Picoscope 2202 versus ADC 200/20

Post by Matt Tindale »

I note that the 2202 has an almost identical spec to the ADC 200/20. Except for the 2Mhz bandwifth on the 2202, compared to 10MHz on the 200/20.
Forgive my lack of understanding but what aspect of measurement will this limit? I thought perhaps resolution but the resolution is the same for both models.
What sort of V accuracy does 8 bits get you?

I am buying for a school Physics department for use in A-level (16-18) Physics courses.

Many thanks.

Hi

Thank you for your post.

The 2MHz bandwidth with affect the speed of signals you can put into the unit, therefore you cannot really put a signal greater than 2MHz in frequency into the unit as it will not be able to display this correctly.

The accuracy of both units is 3% and the 8 bit resolution gives you 256 points on the vertical scale. Obviously as the unit has different voltage ranges this utilises the resolution to the full.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
