Which Pico's Oscilloscope for mV ?

Post by Andrea »

Hi,

I need a low cost oscilloscope to track and register signals of very low Voltage (i.e mV).
When I see low cost ADC 40/42 with a range of +-5V what does it means ? I can use Pico SW to zoom to mV range or HW can't detect small variations ?

For example, ADC 100 offers +-50 mV sensitivity: which models allows mV ?

Second question: how is connection to mV source (two poles) ? What can I use to detect mV ? There is no interference with PC ?

Many thanks !
Have a nice day

Hi

Thank you for your post.

I would suggest it is best not to use the ADC-40 or ADC-42 for this application because as you point out, it would not be able to see mV signals very well. Instead I would recommend using the ADC-212/3 as this has a 12 bit resolution and also goes down to a range of ±10mV - giving you a much better picture of the input.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
