limited timescale in persistence mode

Post by stevenvh »

In scope mode I can have a timescale of up to 5000s/div. I found that in persistence mode this is limited to 20ms/div. Is there a reason for that? Or is it a bug? (As it happens, for my current measurements I need 50ms/div.)

Persistence mode uses the multi block buffer mechanism within the scope to build up the picture. To keep a reasonable time interval between samples in an individual buffer, and to be able to capture sufficient buffers to create a persistence image, there has to be a limit to the timebase setting. This has been set at 20ms/div in this case, giving ~1000 samples per screen.
