Averaging spectrum waveforms

Post by kevino »

I have a 4262 and I'm trying to average the waveform in spectrum mode. I've created a "Math Channel" in my library that shows up as "average(A)", and in the scope mode it averages the A channel correctly. However, when I switch to the spectrum mode, and try to select that math channel as a waveform to be displayed, it doesn't show up as an option (Channels selection only shows "A").

Is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong? I see the "average(A)" channel show up as a reference waveform, but I want a real-time average of my frequency spectrum.

Any ideas?

Hi,

When you enable spectrum mode there is a spectrum options icon (top left, next to the icon for the spectrum). Select this and change the display mode from magnitude to average.

If that does not work for you - let us know.

Best Regards
Alan
