ADC 100 not responding

Post by Shawn »

Hi.
ADC use to work on win 98, Its was kept unused for 2 years, now it does'nt work on win XP
Have tried r5.10.07 and r5.11.08
It is connected to a parallel port using an adapter(pico)

If I feed a 1Khz signal it will indicate about 2500Khz.

If I feed a sine wave it will display a sort of rounded square wave.

Voltmeter does not respond. and indicates 10 to 20 V even when zero setting is done shorting the inputs.

have to get my hand on a older PC with win 98 and try it out .
Thanks ,
Shawn

Hi

Thank you for your post.

This sounds like an issue relating to the adaptor for incompatible parallel ports. If you are already using it but it is displaying these symptoms then it sounds like the patch is not in the win.ini file. For this, open the win.ini file located in the windows directory, it is easily accessible from the start menu-> Run, and type win.ini

For windows XP/NT/2000 You need to be logged-in as administrator in order to apply the patch to the win.ini file, When the patch is installed correctly, picoscope Help-about says "Use Adapter", picolog status button will also say "Use Adapter".

At the end of the file, type the folowing, respecting stricly the case :

[ADC100]
UseAdapter=Yes

Save the file and restart windows.

The Picoscope and Picolog should be displaying signals fine from then on.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
