range of allowable samples?

Post by richhutchins »

Hello,
I am using Picoscope 5.09.04 with an ADC-212/100 on a Win2K PIII laptop. In the menu: settings-scope options-advanced, there is a place to set max samples per scope trace. What is the min & max range that you recomend me to put in this box? At what point do we exede the memory of the ADC-212/100?

Also; please check my math: With max swmples set at 2500, and time scale set at 200microSec/div, the whole window is 2milliSec wide.

so: 2mSec/2500samples = 1/1250000 sec/sample or 1.25Msample/sec

If is correct, then I can always use:
(sample rate) = (max sample)/(screen width)

Rich,

all your calculations are fine, there is nothing hidden so the simple answers are true. The min / max range are inhibited by the dialog box.

The memory of the unit is slightly less than 128,000 samples per channel.
