ADC-16

Post by Raj Gill »

I am using your unit ADC-16. In our application we are testing Potentiometers for Joysticks, which are of 5K. We are moving pot with a stepper motor(voltage divider ckt) and taking data out of Pots output using your ADC-16. My question is should I use external 2.5V powersupply or should I use 5V available on ADC-16 and convert it into 2.5V. I was thinking about using the 5v available on ADC-16, because then A/D and the Pot have same voltage source.
Also what is the Linearity error or Tolerance error on the A / D used in ADC-16.
Any help in answering above questions will be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Raj

Hi

Thank you for your post.

You could use the 5V of the ADC-16 for power - this is up to you.

With regards the linearity or tolerance error, we have no exact figures for this. The accuracy of the unit as a whole though is 0.2%.

Hope this helps
