Picoscope not detecting ADC11

Post by Ian Prain »

Installing PicoScope on a Compaq Amada E500 notebook Pentium 3 processor and Windows XP SP2 operating system.

We get error message "PicoScope could not open the following product ADC11"

The parallel port is set as ECP ( we changed that from bi-directional). Other choices are EPP STD

If a printer is connected there is no error.
The error shows if there is nothing connected or the ADC11 is connected.
We are connecting to LPT1

There is no problem when running on my desk top or other laptop

Hi

Thank you for your post, I am sorry to hear that you have been seeing problems.

You need to have the STD setting in the BIOS. All the other ones that you mention are not optimal for the operation of the product and this could be why it is not opening. Try chaning this and let me know how you get on.

Hope this helps

Still having problems.

If we look at the systems information it shows two resorces for the LPT1.

Would this be a problem.

one is 0x00000378-0x0000037F

other is 0x00000778-0x0000077A

How do we get rid of the unwanted resorce

Thanks
Ian

Hi

Thank you for your post.

I don't think this is an unwanted reasource - my computer has the same, except that instead of terminating in 77A mine is 77B on the second one.

If you continue to have problems then the easiest thing may be to use the device on USB with one of our USB to Parallel adaptors. This would solve all of these problems. Please note that only our adaptors will work with our products.

Hope this helps
