HI the ADC100 is an old product done in the days of Windows 3.11 and Windows 95. It will not work on a 64 bit OS. The reason why it judders is that it is polling, earlier operating systems had less demands on them and as such it was not as apparent. What tests are you doing, do you need the 12 bits from it?
Hello
My name is Pier and i’m a electronic technical adviser, I don'tspeak very well the english lenguage and I'm a new enter.
I have in my little laboratory an Pico ADR 100 virtual instrument.
I install in old computer WIN2000 with “picoFull_r5_16_2 “ driver but the PICO software not work accurately.
There are 2 problems:
1°problem:
Load the software “picoFull_r5_16_2” and I configuration the device: device ADC100, LPT1 port, connecting the cable (25 poles pin to pin) and the adapter between PC port to device. OK the software identify the device.
1° test AC voltage. I used transformer 230/12V 50 Hz for the test to Voltage and the frequency in the cannel A. I don’t’ push the switch AC/DC
I used 20 V scale for voltage and 10ms to basetime frequency.
RESULTS: the measurement of voltage is pecfect but the measurement of frequency is 16,66 Hz…= 1/3 nominal frequency.
Channel “B”: the same.
If I don’t connecting the adapter between LPT1 and ADC100 the software don’t measure.
2° test DC voltage: I used a variable supply. I push The switch AC/DC.
I push GO and the measurement is perfect .
Channel “B”: the same.
WHY???????????
2° Problem:
Close the pico-software.
Open and Load the Pico-software and I CHANGE the configuration device: device ADC101, LPT1 port, connecting the cable and the adapter between PC and parallel port to device. OK the software identify the device.
REPEAT 1° test AC voltage. I used transformer 230/12V 50 Hz for the test to Voltage and the frequency in the cannel A. I don’t’ push the switch AC/DC
I used 20 V scale for voltage and 10ms to basetime.
GO to test
RESULTS: the measurement of frequency is pecfect but the measurement of voltage is very hight : 100V!!!!!! I change the attenuation on the Probe to X1 at X10. Incredible!!!!!!
Channel “B”: the same.
2° test DC voltage: I used a variable supply. I push The switch AC/DC.
I push GO and DON’T measure DC VOLTAGE.
Channel “B”: the same.
My opinion is: the ADC100 is good (no demage). The problem is the software or the drivers or the configuration.
P.S The Pico ADC100 is old but new!! In mind condition (don't used).
Label in the adapter: ADAPTER FOR INCOPATIBLE PARALLEL PORT (SEE MANUAL)
The Pico with-out adapter no mesurement.
Please Help-me!!!!!!
Solutions?????? What I can do???
Regards
Pier
