Satellite TV Spectrum Analyser

Post by Guest »

Hi I need a spectrum analyser capable of viewing Ku and C band frequencies. I would like to get away from our existing brick and have a pc based solution. Have any of you used a pico for this purpose? If so did it come up to standard?

Thanks

Hi

Thank you for your post.

The suitability of our scopes will depend on the maximum frequencies that you wish to look at. Currently, our fastest scope is the PS3206 which has a maximum sampling rate of 200MS/s, giving it a spectrum bandwidth of 100MHz. Would this be enough for your application? I am aware that with some satellite bands it is ok and others it is not enough.

Hope this helps

Best Regards

sat

directly it is not possible

There is no sat band that you can see using any Picoscope. The easiest way is to down convert the signal after the LNB. At this point it is up to 2GHz. You need to mix it with fixed frequency VCO and put the difference into the scope.
