AWG output current capabilities and output impedance mod

Post by fmartin »

Hello,

I would like to know the actual output current capabilities of the AWG.
I did my little research but I would like to confirm with you.
You are using an inverting charge pump regulator for delivering voltage below ground (the MAX889) which current capabilities are up to 200mA. I do not know which are the current capabilities for the positive power rail of the output...

In addition would like to change (by my own risk) the output impedance to 50Ω.
I see that you fix the output impedance by two resistors in series (470Ω + 130Ω = 600Ω) and, I think, you are using the voltage divider between both (I guess for some over-voltage protection with a clipping Schottky diodes or something like that).
Could be feasible to replace both resistor by something like 39Ω + 11Ω , keeping the ratio and having a 50Ω output?
I guess the resistor should be 2512 package... Am I wrong?

Thank you in advance.
