PS3000con example - Device not found

Post by ohochreu »

Hi all,

First, I just wanted to thank Picotech for their improved support of Linux in their products. From my standpoint, this move puts you far ahead of the competition.

I am trying to build and run the PS3000con example on Linux Mint 17 with my 3205B. It builds fine, but when I run it, it always tells me "Device not found" (the handle returned by ps3000_open_unit() is 0), even though the usbtest scripts tells me it found the scope and the permissions are fine, and the Picoscope beta software works perfectly fine on the same PC.

Any idea where the problem might be?

Thanks.

Olivier

Please make sure you are using the drivers and example code for the 3000a devices and not the 3000, they use different driver models. Also ensure that the Picoscope Beta software is not running at the same time.

I was using ps3000 instead of ps3000a
Sorry for the dumb question and thanks for your help!
