Temperature Drit?, DC offset

Post by nmaxwell »

I'm working on a project, I need to collect data and then integrate it. This operation is sensitive to DC offset, or low-frequency noise. I'm using a 5000 series picoscope.

I'm observing a DC offset of a few milivolt, even without anything connected to the scope, which is normal. What's odd is this DC offset drifts over time. See the attached plo. The DC offset starts at about 7mV, and then decreases exponentially as the unit warms up, at a rate of about .001, that is V(t) = V0*exp(-r t), where V0 depends on when you start measuring, r=.001.

Has anyone else seen this happen?

Hi nmaxwell,

Could you please send the following information to support@picotech.com:
  • PicoScope model number
  • Serial number (located under the barcode on the label)
  • Version of PicoScope 6 software being used (click Help -> About PicoScope 6)
We can then investigate further.

Many thanks,
