Picoscope4424 and Fast transient testing

Post by Sharpie »

Hi Forum,

I find myself in the situation where I have to test a piece of equipment for resilience against fast transients and I was wondering if I could use my Picoscope 4424. I realise I can't just plug my standard probes onto the mains, quite a few things would go pop including, quite probably, me, but what type of probe would I need to plug onto the Picoscope to monitor the pulse, generated by a fast transient and burst generator that I would hire in, on both the mains side and the 12v regulated side?

The pulses could be up to 4.5Kv at a maximum of 1Mhz.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
