Serial Decoding using the Link function

Post by ISUperson »

Hi,
I am using PICOscope 6 software to decode J1939 CAN messages and have two questions.
First, I have tired to use the link features to give names to certain messages, but I can't get it to work. Do I need to have the whole message defined or can I have just part of it in the Excel sheet?

Second, If I need to define the whole message, is there a wildcard option? So if I have a message that comes from multiple source address, the end of the ARBID will be different for that address. So for PGN 65110 the ARBID is 18FE5600 coming from source address 0 and 18FE56A3 coming from soucre address 163. So for ID if I put 18FE50%% for the ID it would assign both with the description I use. % is my generic wildcard for this example.

Thanks for any help on this.

Define lines in the table for 18FE5600 and 18FE56A3 and give them the same name if you wish.

If you post a psdata file, File->SaveCurrentWaveformAs, and we can look at creating and example csv file for you
