Converting digital Pico-data to sound

Post by Chris Stamford-Burrows »

Hi
I have a 3000 series Picoscope and also want to use 2104 with Pico6.

I want to use the 'scope to look at pulsed signal bursts at around 10kHz, but I also want to listen to the 'clicks' on Laptop headphones.

Is there an easy way to do this using Windows 7 software, or bought in application software, or maybe Pico-software ?

Or do I need to make software to read digital Picodata and somehow convert it into analogue at audio frequencies.

In this connection, what format is Picodata in? Can I read it as numbers in a terminal emulator?

Hi Chris,

If you save the data into text file format from PicoScope 6, you might be able to use a third party application such as Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) or the softawre that can be found from the link below:

http://www.ehow.com/how_6584801_convert ... -file.html*

You might need to rename the file as a .dat format file.

You can write your own software using the Software Development Kit to capture data if you wish.

Hope this helps.
