Hi all, am new here and need some advice. Well i purchased an adc212 off ebay and the seller is scum. sold as working unit but plainly isnt.
My problem is that it does work to a point, Ive set it up on my laptop. A DELL Inspiron 1501, Im using software 5.21.2 and instead of the line being solid on 0 it is fluctuating just below. ive sent support 2 emails to see if i can send it off for calibration but not had a reply. anyone else ever experienced this? i need to know if it is out of calibration or something has just been fried.
Any advice welcome.

i have not put any signal to it yet, i will give it a try today. Is there supposed to be any interference on the live? if i run it in the house with the tv on i get inteference even if no probe is connected? i will try a signal on it and let you know the result.
Hi what voltage range was the device on ? Could you send a screen shot of the interference?
The ADC212 has a signal generator output on it which can feed a square wave output. If you use a BNC to BNC connector to connect the output of the generator to the input channel.
Another thing you can do is choose a voltage range of say +/-2V and then putting a AA battery between the terminals of your probe.
It may be that the scope needs repair work but let me know how you get on.
Hi ziko and thanks for the reply. sorry im a bit late coming back as ive been really busy but could really do with the scope in decent condition. I still hav'nt put any signal to it and im not sure what voltage range it was on either. here are some pics of setup and screen shot of software with probe disconnected. as it is setup that is all i had with scope. I will also email support again.

It could still be noise on the signal though as the probe could act as an antenna, one suggestion is to short the probe tip with the ground lead. Also try measuring a AA battery between the probe tip and the ground lead, put the voltage range on +/-2V.
I agree with Ziko - the photo shows the probe tip unconnected (ungrounded) so it will be picking up noise, possibly from the laptop.
1mV is not a lot of noise when the input is not grounded. Connect the probe across a battery or to the built in signal generator - there may be nothing wrong with the scope.
thanks ziko, i have put the tip on batt + and earth on batt - and not getting anything from battery. it is a new battery too.
also has anyone got pico 6 automotive working with adc 212?
Hi. PicoScope 6 Automotive should work with an ADC212. As for the voltage measurement, just check the channel is not set to AC coupling before concluding the channel is faulty. Also repeat test for channel B as well.
