Problem with ps6000ExternalClock

Post by olaf.schubert »

Hello,

I'm trying to synchronize my PicoScope 6403 to an external clock. The clock is fixed at about 40 MHz. I divide down the clock to either 5, 10 or 20 MHz.

I wrote a Labview program to run the ps6000ExternalClock command and acquire a couple of samples afterwards using the ps6000settings.vi and ps6000block.vi. At first everything seems fine, but after some (typically 10 - 20) acquisitions Labview displays a window:
"Error 5086 occurred at ps6000RunBlock
Possible reason(s):
PICO_EXTERNAL_FREQUENCY_INVALID"

If I select the wrong frequency when running ps6000ExternalClock, the PICO_EXTERNAL_FREQUENCY_INVALID error is displayed immediately after running the externalClock command.
I did not encounter the problem described here: http://www.picotech.com/support/topic10431.html

What am I doing wrong? (I checked that the clock is stable and running at the correct frequency within <1%)

Thanks for your help.

Best regards

What value do you have set for the threshold and what are the characteristics of your clock signal ?
