milk freshness project

Post by syafiq »

Hi

I'm currently doing an electronic tongue project and i'm still finding the right experiment setup, and hardwares. i would like to have sensors which can be dipped inside a solution (milk) to find its potential/resulting current.

i am really interested in your product but i would like to have your recommendation on these items:

1)Suitable ORP/Redox sensor electrode
2)pH sensor electrode
3)electrode amplifier
4)suitable data logger/interface/DAQ
5)temperature sensor for solution temperature

this is only for a university project. I am currently in Malaysia, so please advice me on the purchase procedure

Hi syafiq,

Our USB DrDAQ data logger has a pH/REDOX sensor input as well as external inputs to connect a temperature sensor to. The data logger is supplied with our PicoLog software allowing you to capture the data to a file.

How long are you looking to capture data for and how often do you require readings?

Unfortunately, the DrDAQ can only have one pH or REDOX sensor connected to it at a time, so you would need 2 DrDAQ units if you are logging data from the pH and REDOX sensors at the same time. However you can capture data from mutiple units with the PicoLog software.

If you are capturing data from both sensors at the same time, you would require the following:
  • 2x DrDAQ loggers (http://www.drdaq.com/) (Product code: PP706)
  • 1x DrDAQ pH Sensor (Product code: DD011)
  • 1x DrDAQ Redox sensor (Product code: TA137)
  • 1x DrDAQ Temperature sensor (Product code: DD100)
Information on the sensors may be found at http://www.drdaq.com/sensors.html

We don't sell any electrode amplifiers but you shouldn't need one with our sensors.

We do have distributors in Malaysia, details of which can be found here:

http://www.picotech.com/distrib/my/

I hope this helps - please let me know if you require any further help.

thanks for the reply.

to have 2 DAQ is a bit difficult for me as it would cost more. can i use the external ports to connect either pH or redox? i need to measure both pH and redox at the same time.

hi can we take readings using the DrDaQ for days? how long can it go?

Hi syafiq,

Both sensors require a high impedance input and so unfortunately, it is not possible to use the External sensor inputs.

You can record data over a period of a few days - the limitation is 1 million samples per channel, so you will need to work out what this is depending on your sampling interval.

Hope this helps,
