3 Phase logging

Post by MartinBuckles »

Good afternoon,

We have a few TC-08s and an ADC-11 (with an add on board for doing 4-20mA) here and we would like to log a 3 phase supply that we believe may have either a phase dropping out or a voltage fluctuation issue. Can we use either of these loggers to do this? We have a couple of the add on boards for the TC-08 which allow 0-5v input so I can log the phase dropping out with a relay on each phase but this wont tell me if I have a voltage fluctuation issue. Is there a way I can log this please?

Hi Martin,

The TC-08 is too slow, and the ADC11 only measures posative voltages.

You would really need an oscilloscope to asses this really, and then use a differential probe.

The oscilloscope can measure the signals quick enough and give you the negative and posative voltages. The 4424 is a 4 channel oscilloscope and can allow you to measure each of your 3 phases.

Whilst the differential probe, TA041, will allow you to measure the voltage safely providing isolation.

How long are you looking to look at this for and are you looking to measure each of the 3 phases?
