Picoscope and Picolog

Post by sarasgobba »

Hello, I've got picoscope 2205. Is it possible to connect it to Picolog software?
I need to make acoustic emission data logging for long time.
Many thanks in advance

The 2205 will work with both PicScope and PicLog software. You can download the latest versions from http://www.picotech.com/software.html

With reference to my last info request, do you think picoscope 2205 could be suitable for long time recording (one month for example)?
Thank you for your support.

You will need a permanently powered PC, with hibernation/sleep disabled, and sufficient space to store the data you collect, but in principle yes.

What data are you collecting and at what sample interval ?

I should make time monitoring of acoustic emission signals in concrete specimens subjected to restrained shrinkage. Thus, I want to use the acoustic emission activity for cracking detection, that could happen at a cracking age unknow. Therefore, it could be enough just to record the number of trigger theresold crossings! Do you think I can set-up this condition in picolog, in order to reduce the number of data recorded? The sample frequency shoul be about 2 MHz.
Thank you again,
Sara

Do you have any sample waveforms that show what you would be looking to log ? and how many triggers you would expect to get for the duration of the test ?
