Averaging of buffered pulses

Post by MartinB »

Hi,
my question is: Is it possible to calculate/produce an averaged recording from a bunch of buffered single signal recordings ?

Background:
I have to record signals with short pulses, which are slightly different each triggered and recorded "shot". Until recently I used persistance mode to see an averaged view of all pulses - now I'm recording 32 single shots into the buffed and save all of them together - which makes it hard to estimate averaged values from all these single shots.

Hi Martin,

Are you writing your own software or using the PicoScope software?

Which device are you using to capture the data?

Averaging is available as a maths channel (add a maths channel, click on advanced and select the X with a line above it).

If you have a scope with rapid block triggering then you can combine the two functions - you can use the rapid triggering to capture waveforms with almost no re-arm delay and then average them all together.

Hi,
thanks for these fast replies - I just tried the maths channels and it seems to work perfectly - even with a saved bunch of waveforms - thanks a lot !
And btw. I use Picotech 6.6.16.12 with a picoscope 6403.
Best regards
Martin
