RMS current function

Post by François »

Hello,

Firstly, I'm sorry for my bad English, I'm French... :(

My question : I have measured an instantaneous and RMS current with my Pico product. So I have now two curves.
I just want to know if it's possible to calculate the RMS current from the instantaneous current without need to do an other measure. I was searching for a function in the "Maths Channels" but I didn't find.

That's the function I want to calculate.

Is it possible ? If yes, can you help me please ?

Best regards,

François

You can see an example in the attachment.

I'm searching to write in "Maths Channel" a function which is able to calculate the red curve from the blue curve...

Thanks

Can you save your waveform as a csv file and post it here then we can take a look to see if it is possible to create the maths channel.

You can see in the attachment the csv file and the original file...

If you need to have others measurements, I can do it without problem.

Thank you

I haven't been able to create an equation to do this.

Has anybody else had a go ?

Hi,

We have found a component which is able to do the conversion from the instantaneous current to the RMS current, this is the reference : AD536A.
If you need to see technical informations, you can go here :
http://pdf1.alldatasheet.fr/datasheet-p ... D536A.html

My question : is it possible to integrate the component or at least its function to the Picoscope ?

Thanks,

François

It is unlikely that we would be able to integrate the component into Picoscopes. You could contact support@picotech.com for a definitve answer as to whether the functionality could be added.
