Persistence Mode Training Video

Post by GrahamC »

Am I alone in thinking the conclusions about the absence of interfering ringing pulses during the clock pulse in the Persistence Mode training video is not entirely justified and the effect is just an artifact of the triggering?
If the trigger is set to a negative level then the interfering signal will have to be of larger (negative) amplitude than the clock pulse (positive) for the triggering to take place. For a small interfering signal there will always be an apparent absence during the clock pulse. The commentator actually got it correct at first by pointing out that the ringing pulse could be seen superimposed on the top of the clock pulse.

I have checked and agree with your conclusions, there is interference on the clock pulse but it wont be seen with the trigger conditions being used. I will pass this information back to the relevant people although I can't guarantee that an update will appear soon.

Well spotted and I hope you enjoy the rest of the videos.
