Good Sun Screen

Post by JamesFrancisThornton »

 Dear All:
I am working out side and can not see the screen. for all the other things reflected in the screeen. Any Ideas? Consider a touch screen active Lap Top Computer also as the curser is allways hiding. Thanks in advance, James Thornton

The Panasonic CF-30 Toughbook has been recommended before on the forums although it is expensive, as would most devices in this class. From a Picoscope perspective support for Windows7/XP and a USB2 port would be needed.

I think the issue is that recently laptop manufacturers have started using very glossy / reflective screens. These are great for watching a HD movie inside but pretty useless in sunlight.

My Sony Vaio has a semi gloss screen and is a good compromise but its difficult to give specific advice as so many new laptops are released all the time. Lots of reviews of laptops on Amazon etc mention how good / bad a specific laptop is.

If you dont want to buy a new machine then there are also anti reflective films you can stick on your display - search Amazon for antireflective screen protector (not sure if these are OK for touch screen laptops, but screen protectors seem OK on iphones etc).
