Custom Probes (DC and AC operation)

Post by MeridenJohn »

Am using Picoscope V6.5.78 and I am very happy with it's function(s).

1) Custom Probe in AC mode:
I have found a peculiarity when using a custom prove in both the DC and AC coupling (not at the same time of course). I find the offset is applied in both coupling modes. For me, the offset should be removed when the probe coupling is in the AC mode but others may have a different need. Maybe a check box would be best.

2) Printing Format:
I would prefer if the headings and PicoScope revision could be removed from the footer. We do not choose to include our phone number nor website on the data (we are a multi national company and they change from country to country).
Also our customer does not care what version of Picoscope we use and I would prefer to have a minimum of clutter in my reports. I would appreciate if these items could be selected in the options. BTW to keep the measurements with the chart, I print to PDF then imbed the PDF into my document(s).

Regards

John

Hi John,

What product are you using? What is the signal that you are feeding in? Do you have an example file?

In terms of the printing of company details, you can remove this by going into Tools->preferences and then choosing Pritinging tab.

Kindn regards

Ziko,

Thank you for the prompt reply. Quite frankly I didn't necessarily expect a reply so there has been some delay in my response.

1) Custom Probe in AC mode:
I am using a 3206B with PicoScope 6.5.78.5 Input is from a Pressure Sensor. The custom probe parameters are: m = 271.6 and c = 135.5 kPa.
The Issue I have is when I am looking at the pressure ripple riding on the normal system pressure. I put the scope into the AC mode and increase the gain. However the offset is still added into on screen trace. I have to either create 2 probes (one DC and one for AC) or keep changing the offset when i switch from DC to AC etc.

2) Printing Format:
I can remove all entries in the "....Tools->preferences and then choosing Printing tab" but I am still left with:

"Tel: Web: PicoScope 6 Version 6.5.78.5"

Leaving the "Tel: Web:" hanging there looks really lame in our presentations.

Thanks John

Hi John,

Try downloading PicoScope R6.6 from http://labs.picotech.com/ we have fixed the issue with the print out showing Tel: Web: when no phone or web site are entered. It still shows the PicoScope version, I think all scope manufacturers have their name or logo in screenshots or printouts so we are not alone in this respect.
