PS3000A-B Programmers guide and Oversampling/Downsampling

Post by Massimo »

Hi,

I can read in §2.1.6 Note of the programmers guide that I can obtain the same effect of the oversampling with the downsampling mode. :?
It is possible to have downsample setting example in order to have a resolution enhancement of 4 bits like an oversampling factor of 256?

Thanks
Massimo

Hi Massimo,

Unfortunately this is not something that you can do. What sample rates are you looking for?

Kind regards

Hi Ziko,

Thanks for your reply.
I have to catch about a thousand of waves with a max frequency of about 150kHz and 150 µS long randomly spread on an hour.
In my opinion catching them at a frequency between 1 and 10 MSa/S could be a good compromise.
For this application I need to use only one channel.
In order to do this I wonder if let the oscilloscope work in rapid block mode is the best solution.
Obviously I'm writing my vb.net application to allow it.
On the programmers guide I have found that the oversampling is allowed only in block mode, it is possible let it work also in rapid block mode?
The device I'm waiting for is a ps3204A.
Thanks again for your time.
