Open a specific Pico 5203 device by a given serial

Post by hendrik »

Hello everyone,

I have a computer running Ubuntu 10.10 with several PicoScopes (ver. 5203) attached to it. How can I open one of them by its Serial-Number, I know the Windows driver can do this.

Is there any way under Linux other then open all devices, scan their Serial-Number and close all of them which do'nt have the given Serial. I know this is an extremely aweful way and it doesn't work well.

Is there any beta or early driver which supports this?

Thanks,
Hendrik

Hi, the Linux driver was written before the changes to the Windows driver, so unfortunately this feature is not available currently.

You would have to open the unit and get the serial number, if you had multiple units you would have to open each unit and check the serial number, without closing any previous units. Once you have the correct serial number you can then close the other units.

Hope this helps.
