Maybe it time for network interface

Post by tdc »

I see other topics around here touching on this subject - so others are feeling the need for this too.

More and more I find things around I want to datalog and I don't have a computer on all the time and it would be inconvenient to say the least to have USB or serial cable strung all around the place.

So - maybe its time for a datalogger with a 10baseT interface and dhcp - and maybe even wifi - although with the 10baseT it easy to get to wifi. Also if a computer or NAS is on the net - it should be smart enough to log its data to their automatically.

I always have a NAS up and a WiFi hub. With a datalogger of this capability to good set up monitoring quickly and easily.

Just a thought.

Wifi, 10baseT and DHCP stuff is getting quite cheap - it seems it would raise the price to much to add this.
