Connect TC08 to labview

Hello,
I recently bought some tempscans TC08 and I would like to link them with Labview. I am new to this software, but I saw there are some codes that you have already prepared for the interaction between the TC08 and labview.

I downloaded this: http://decibel.ni.com/content/servlet/J ... 0TC-08.zip and I tried to run the software but doesn't work. Even the software you provided with the CD does not work.

I guess there is a problem in the USB device ID, please, can you tell me how to solve this problem and if it is possible to connect more than one TC08 with labview?

Try the example in the latest SDK, which can be downloaded from the website

http://www.picotech.com/software.html

Select TC-08 Thermocouple Data Logger USB (select the product)

Select Software Development kit in step 2 (Software version)

This works.

Other two questions:
is it possible to insert the "add data to file" as feature?
is it possible to define which tempscan it is reading from?

However, I'll explain better my problem:

I have 40 thermocouples and I want to get the measurements for all of them at the same istant of time, I don't need a high frequency but I need to get all of them together.

I can use labview, as well as excel or other environment you might suggest.

Please let me know if what I ask is feasible with labview or other software, taking into account that all the tempscans are linked through USB doors ---> I am using a hub to link them to the computer.

Dear Chris, thank you very much, the software is working fine.

Please, I have another couple of questions:

- how to tell to the labview software which tempscans use?
- is it possible to add the "write data to measurements file" please?

In addition, later I will eventually have a problem with these tempscans, since I plan to use 5 tempscans (40 thermocouples), and I would like to get the measurements in the same instant of time, I don't mind about the frequency of acquistion. Is there a manner to obtain this result, using labview, excel or whichever environemnt you may suggest or there will always be a problem of data acquisition at the same instant of time?

You will be able to use multiple units connected to one pc, connected through a usb hub. Use a powered hub.

You can't synchronise the units, but that may not be important. If you start the units at the same time, the sample times will be close if your samle rate is slow.

Labview has a 'write to spreadsheet.vi, in the file I/O palette, which may be useful for what you want to do.
