PT 100 instead of k-type

Post by Christof Erban »

Hi,

is it possible to connect a foil pt100 such as the JUMO PF 90.6023 (data sheet attached) instead of a k type thermocouple to the TC 08. This sensor is very thin and provides an areal sensoring rather than a local reading?

Is there a interface available that can provide the signal adaptation?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Christof

No it will not work, you really need a dedicated logger for PT100. The TC-08 is used to measure inputs from thermocouples. Thermocouples give a change in voltage with temperature, a PT100 sensor is a resistance device.

You need a device like the PT104 which is designed to work for PT100/PT1000 sensors:

Hope this helps.

Hi Ziko,

thanks for the answer. I was afraid of that. I do own a TC 08 and my sensors are PT100. So I need to make up my mind and find out which is easier to change. The TC08 or the sensors.

Thanks again

To make things easier (or more difficult!) is accuracy important to you and what is your temperature range?

Kind regards
