Gif or Jpg import overlay suggestion

If we could overlay tranparent pictures upon the picoscope view, then we could use a 4-stroke cycle chart to map cylinder #1 with the exhaust negative pulse miss detection and know right away which cylinder is misfiring.

Here is an example of the charting currently being done without this feature.

Here you must work off-line, whereas the import transparent picture view would allow an overlay for real-time observations. As long as we can stretch or shrink the image size, then it could be adjusted to match the current time divisions.

Many other uses could be found for this transparent overlay feature. For example, you could include any image to be included for the customer printout of a waveform.

You could either make the view overlay of a solid picture transparent within picoscope or you could require that the transparency property be prepared external to picoscope.

This sounds a bit like my own comment a while back - see thread:

That's 3 of us anyway!

This is the trouble with designing a good PC based scope - we always
want it to do more
