PLW has encountered a problem. USB Fix

Post by peterrocks50 »

This annoying problem seems to occur from time to time after making a few recordings. After trying several computers I discovered how to greatly improve the situation (not eliminate it altogether though).
It would appear that the 1216 picologger (and possibly other models) work ok with PC's which have USB2 ports. USB1 on the other hand seems to cause the pico to crash after recording a few files.
Go to into your device manager and under the Universal serial bus controllers click on USB ROOT HUB.
Under the power management tabs deselect "allow computer to turn off this device to save power".
This fix will cure most crashes with the 1216 picologger. It would appear that supply interuptions on the USB line cause picologger to crash (which is understandable).
I hope it works for you. It did for me.
